Who are Absoluteness?

Our Story...

Thank you for considering sharing yourself with us and considering letting us join you on your journey.  I'm Rachel, the owner and lead therapist for Absoluteness. There are many other counsellors who you could choose, so why choose us?  We pride ourselves on being genuine, real, honest and true. We will give ourselves completely to you.

Absoluteness began from the sofa in the front room of our family home in 2019. The first part of our growth happened shortly after in 2020 when we converted the back of our garage into a small but cosy therapy space. We quickly outgrew this space too and in May 2022 we moved into our first ‘proper’ office space at The Retford Enterprise. In August 2025 we open a branch of Absoluteness at Middletons Yard in Worksop.

From the sofa, to two towns, and from just me, to an incredible team of 5 highly skilled and experienced therapists!

I am incredibly proud of the brand I have so lovingly and passionately created.

My counselling journey began following my own experience of baby loss on two occasions. One, a miscarriage and the other, the silent, beautiful and heartbreaking still birth of a little boy diagnosed with Trisomy 18, Edwards Syndrome.

My world was shattered into a million pieces. I had experienced loss before, losing my dad to Cancer at the age of 47, when I was 23, and my much-loved grandparents, but this was so different. I struggled to navigate my way through, but was determined that something positive could come out of what I was going through. I came across two local baby loss charities, Joel-The Complete Package and Ernie’s Wish, who between them funded my counselling training. In return, I was able to provide counselling support to families just like ours who had experienced baby loss. I will be forever grateful for their belief in me and the valuable opportunities they gave me to make a real difference.

When one of my own children required support with their mental health, and realising that I couldn’t be their therapist, I then identified how broken the system in place to support our children was. The wait was long, and the criteria to meet was high. I wanted to change that and so made it my mission to provide unique, timeless accessible therapeutic support for children and young people, drawing on my past experience and qualifications to deliver award winning therapy.

There is still a lot of work to do, but I believe in the magic of what we do, I believe in the brand and I believe in my team.

Absoluteness, going from strength to strength and continuing to ‘Inspire Change’

Our Offices

Our offices are a unique space where together we explore how to best support people of all ages and requirements.

For our young people, therapeutic play forms a huge part of what we do, using creativity as a platform for unlocking and exploring anxieties and concerns.  To do this we have a wide range of interactive games and activities for our young clients to engage in and discover a safe sharing space.

For our adult clients, the offices become a calming, relaxing and non-clinical environment where we can share open and honest discussions in an informal setting.while we understand and progress through your theraputic journey.

Retford

Our Retford base and original home of Absoluteness.  This warm, inviting area can quickly transform from calming to stimulating depending on the needs of our clients.

Worksop

Our new, larger office in the heart of Worksop.  Here we have more space for interactive and engaging activities but still retain the tranquility and relaxing feel that we all need from time-to-time.

Our Achievements

Nothing makes us prouder than helping people to make positive change in their lives but when we receive recognition for the work we do this gives both the business and our clients that what we do really makes a difference to people's lives.
