Online (Virtual) Counselling

We understand that it’s not always possible to get to us in person. Life is busy, work hours are demanding, transport can be tricky, and sometimes the biggest barrier is simply how you’re feeling. For some people, leaving the house (or even leaving a workplace) can feel overwhelming. And for others, the idea of walking into a counselling room for the first time can be a huge step.

Inspiring change – from the comfort of your own space

That’s why we offer online counselling — a flexible way to access professional support from a place where you feel safe, without compromising on warmth, connection, or quality. We’re proud to provide award-winning, person-centred counselling both in-person and online, delivered with the same non-clinical, down-to-earth approach we’re known for.

Safety behind the screen is still safety

Some people feel safer talking from their own sofa, their car on a lunch break, or a quiet corner of the house. That feeling of control matters. Online therapy can give you the confidence to begin — and beginning is often the hardest part.

If virtual sessions feel right for you (even if it’s just initially, until trust is established and you feel more comfortable), we’d encourage you to try. The “click of a button” can genuinely be the start of something different.

Real people, real connection (not just a screen)

Online counselling with Absoluteness is not a cold or scripted service. It’s not a generic app, and it’s not a one-size-fits-all helpline. You’ll be supported by our BACP Registered, highly skilled team — warm, approachable professionals who genuinely care about helping you move forward.

We believe strongly that people need people. Even through a screen, you’ll feel our commitment to:

* Being human and compassionate

* Listening without judgement

* Tailoring support to you (not forcing you into a rigid process)

* Helping you explore what’s really going on, at your pace

What online counselling can help with

Online therapy can be effective for many of the reasons people come to counselling, including:

* Anxiety, worry, panic, and overwhelm

* Low mood, stress, burnout, and confidence

* Bereavement and loss

* Relationship struggles (including couples support where appropriate)

* Life transitions, identity, and feeling “stuck”

And if you’re not sure what you need yet — that’s okay too. Sometimes the first goal is simply to feel heard, steady, and supported.

A flexible bridge to face-to-face (if you want it)

Online counselling is a brilliant option long-term — but it can also be a gentle stepping stone. Many clients start online, build trust with their therapist, and then choose to move into face-to-face sessions when they feel ready. If that’s something you’d like, we can support you at either of our welcoming locations in Retford or Worksop.

Simple practical support to help you feel comfortable

We’ll help make online sessions feel easy and natural. All you really need is:

* a private space where you won’t be overheard

* a phone, tablet, or laptop with internet

* a moment to arrive and breathe before the session starts

If privacy at home is difficult, we’ll talk it through and help you find a workable solution (people often get creative — and that’s completely fine).
